Wonderful Night Celebrating Billie Jean King
Last week I went to the NY Athletic Club to celebrate a wonderful woman and her accomplishments! Wendy Hilliard, the first African American rhythmic gymnast to compete on the US National Team, celebrated 21 years of her Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation. Since 1996, she has provided free and low cost gymnastics programs to over 17,000 urban youth! At the celebration, Wendy honored EY’s David O’Brien for his significant impact on the foundation and Billie Jean King, who delighted all of us girls when she won that famous tennis match against Bobby Riggs! But Billie Jean has done so much more along her journey to inspire and encourage young girls in sports. Congratulations to them all!
