Remembering John Curry

Last month, The Ice King, a documentary on the great John Curry, produced by the BBC, came to NYC. It was directed by James Erskine and produced by Victoria Gregory.

That night was a bittersweet occasion as we remembered our dear, beloved colleague John, who stood above all others on the ice in his vision of what skating could be. It was both sad and joyous as we gathered together to remember and celebrate.

Here you’ll see James the director and fellow cast members (L to R) Tim Murphy, Cathy Foulkes and Nathan Birch. Cathy skated the stunning Afternoon of a Faun with John. Tim and Nathan went on to create the wonderful Next Ice Age Company of skaters to continue John’s legacy and art. Here also, is a photo of me doing Tango, Tango (from a poster of our performance in Tokyo with the Tokyo Symphony).
