On December 8th, 37 children, ages 8 to 15 came to the Codey Arena for a Christmas Skating Party.
This marks the 6th year I’ve had the privilege of hosting this event for kids from the Newark Christian Academy in Newark, NJ.  Most of the children have never had the chance to skate before, so for the 3 other coaches and me, it was a challenge!  But these kids are so well mannered, so enthusiastic and so very appreciative!  After refreshments and putting on skates, they took to the ice with determination!  Although there were lots of spills, laughter filled the air, along with the wintery holiday music.  The coaches, Laura Klinger, Marc Fenczak and David Lipowitz and I, gave the kids a brief skating brief exhibition to this MOST appreciative audience!  After the skating, the kids all went home with goodie bags, a few bruises and big smiles!  What a JOY!  Feeling the Christmas spirit!
